Kali

Kali is the Hindu goddess of time and change, the consort of Shiva, on whose body she is often seen standing.

In her earliest incarnation she was presented as a figure of annihilation, dark and violent, but more recent devotional concepts portray Kali as a benevolent earth goddess.

She's remarkably flexible, part of the great  Hindu pantheon, which has a god or goddess for almost anything and everything and therefore makes for such spiritual and religious sense.

In my household, she's kept under glass.

When the light's right, I worship her divine nature while knowing she has another side, an aspect I'll never understand.
