from the lost notebook of Monsieur Ambivalence

Sometimes I feel like I'm trying to take a picture of what isn't here.

After reading the as-yet unpublished manuscript of the poems of _______: Some poetry isn't poetry; no, most poetry isn't poetry. Whether or not poetry is or is not poetry is poetry when poetry's poetry.

Perhaps a god is describing me, right now...

...the Christian impulse is one of action, its beauty and its curse.

But who wrote this? I would like to make something that is real in itself, that does not remind anyone of any other thing, and that does not have to be explained, like the letter A for instance.

It wasn't me.
