Hi, I'm Thomas Fuller

Brooks left town for a few days and asked if I wouldn't take over his space here...I could write anything I wanted, I could write about myself. No rules, other than to spend as little time as possible writing the thing, no more than 45 minutes.

"What's the least time you've spent writing one of these?" I asked Brooks.

"3 minutes," he said, and don't worry about the AP style book. This isn't the New York Times." Ok, I'm in, here it goes:

I read the 'reading list' of one of our esteemed young literati--Bukowski and John Fante and the Beat poets--and felt myself sinking once again into the western twilight that makes the sky so pretty, especially on "Spare the Air Days."

Well, as my pal Joe Ely, who just completed his doctorate on Matthew Arnold and the semiotics of late Romantic poetry, once sang, "the road goes on forever and the party never ends."
