Wedding day
Today, I'd like you to try something.
Put a small hard piece of ice in the back of your mouth or under your tongue and really feel it as it melts. That's probably the way a glacier feels.
There are people who genuinely like to smile, like Julie, the stewardess on the Delta flight from San Francisco to Salt Lake City yesterday. And then there are people who smile like they're trying to get through something. I know fewer and fewer of these kind of people, the people who have to really try hard to smile, personally, but I wonder which kind of person Hillary Clinton is?
Spencer, my youngest son, and Tasha, my newest daughter, are getting married later today in Salt Lake City. Last night we had a sweet little family get-together in our hotel room.
Tasha started crying. Then Tray, age 5 and worried, said, "Mommy, why are you crying?
I tried to explain to Tray the difference between happy tears and sad ones. "Your mommy's so happy she's crying."
This morning, it's snowing in Salt Lake City, a mountain storm, the kind that passes quickly. I stand by the window of my hotel room and watch the snow, like snow is something I've never seen before.
Tasha and Spencer are being married at 3:30 this afternoon at City Hall.
