The Strom Thurmond Institute for misunderstood conservatives

There are problems that can't be solved.

And the world's made of things we can't possibly keep up with – hence, the need for consolation.

We live at a time when every action we take brings us into conflict with ourselves. Antidote: make something new.

When I spilled a drop of water on the piece of paper on which I'd written certain principles, I watched as a whole belief system broke down right before my eyes.

Today's one of those days when everything is as difficult as getting into a cab with a standup bass. The gig is in a club across town, and the driver insists that I pay two fares--one for myself and one for my instrument. It isn't fair, another example of the evisceration of the middle-class by the mainstream media.

Just when we think nothing more can be achieved politically, we see nothing new being made of the same old thing.
