Population

The problem is the people,

that we are overrun

from the beginning,

and the carnage

seems endless.

The people who rule

have learned all the tricks,

how to lie secretly out loud,

acting like themselves acting like ancient emperors,

pretending it’s truth we’ve been told

and hold dear.

Yet truth never sounded so phony

or gratuitous.
