Re-reading 'The Metamorphosis' in Wyoming

How did I ever forget that in real life Gregor Samsa was a traveling salesman? And that it’s only real life that never changes.

I do remember living in my own life, at least once or twice, and that it seemed real to me at the time.

 Now I can’t name a fire that isn’t burning somewhere in the western United States, or think of another insect that hasn’t changed into a real living human being.
