The Day After Father's Day

On the day after Father’s Day I’m doing nothing, having done next to nothing the day before Father’s Day, which was, by then, the day before Sunday, a Saturday in which I did next to nothing, very little that is of practical use, reading the newspapers, talking to my sons on the phone, watching sports on tv and then a movie titled, ‘Lake George’ a movie I fell asleep on after about a half-hour, having lost interest. There’s nothing wrong with losing interest, there’s no shame in it, losing interest happens to some of the finest people in the world. They just lose interest, that’s all. I make no judgement.

Sunday, I got dressed up for Sunday early on Sunday morning and went to the gym. I was prepared in a way for Sunday, Father’s Day, sticking to my new routine of doing next to nothing to see what would happen, rather than riding the exercise bike or pumping the elliptical machine.

Sunday and Father’s Day came and went like that, as long as I did nothing or next to nothing. I wasn’t a winner or a loser. Instead I played along by most doing nothing as the day passed very pleasantly. And now that it’s the day after Father’s Day, Monday is here and I’m ready.
