Yves Klein Gray
My blue, not International Klein Blue but close to Yves Klein’s.
Who remembers Ram Dass, ‘be here now’?
It’s not much fun to ‘be here now’ in a country occupied by giant blond or petite protoplasmic creatures who wear small silver Christian crosses around their necks.
I’ve found, once again, the answer to everything—read Samuel Beckett! “If there is anything in it I mean, I shall try and get myself out of bed…” (Malone Dies, p. 256).
Beckett is not simply funny, Beckett’s hilarious.
Everything else it seems is gray at best. Even the Frenchman Yves Klein jumping out of a window mid-air in Paris in 1960, wearing, presumably, International Klein Blue but photographed in black-and-white-and grays.
The late Klein (1928-1962), a Buddhist by the way and, practitioner of Judo, liked to explore the” infinite expanse of nothingness”, sailing into the void as we too are sailing.
