Mamdani is coming, Mamdani is coming! This should be Music to our ears! The Right is finally throwing a bone to the Left. I’m excited! Aren’t you, or are you not? Perhaps, that by the time I’m still alive the king will be past tense and I can then safely give him his present.

I’m so happy I marched the other day, as it was the right thing to do. If I had one song to sing today it would probably be “Wooly Bully.”

When I finally arrived home from the march, Wooly Bully still in my ears, I sat down on the couch and turned on the TV: there was Jack Benny and Rochester in black-and-white. No, I was mistaken; it was Bill Maher interviewing Arnold Schwarzenegger on CNN! The next guest was a man with 3 names who’d just written a new book with the title, “1929”.

Yes, the title of the writer’s new book is scary, like listening to sirens and helicopters at 4am when you’d rather be sleeping. He makes the point though that “speculation built America” and in the next breath that “too much debt in the system lights the match.”

Well, in any event, it had been a beautiful day. I marched from the Embaradero to City Hall, then boarded the Muni. When I finally arrived home I discovered I’d made it home safely, and that by the time I got there the beer was cold and good, good and cold.
